The orchestra gives three concerts a year (November, March, and July), with ten rehearsals before each concert. We work hard with our Music Director (Richard Howarth) to achieve a high technical and musical standard. We also have fun…..
We meet in St Mary’s Club & Function Room in Chorley, on a Tuesday evening from 7:15 until 9:30. (See the Players page for detailed directions).
Come and play with us
We have vacancies in most string sections and for percussion. Brass and woodwind vacancies come around less often for obvious reasons but we are happy to put your name on a waiting list. There is no formal audition and in the first instance we invite those interested in joining to attend rehearsals to see how they get on. Membership is subject to the agreement of the committee
If you would like to join our list of people we can call on for occasional concerts, please get in touch.

Rehearsal venue
St Mary’s Club & Function Room, West Street, off Devonshire Road, Chorley, PR7 2BY
The hall is a bit confusing, because it has 2 different postcodes (PR7 2BY and PR7 2SR) and many different names (St Mary’s Club & Function Room, St Mary’s Parish Social Club, St Mary’s Parish Centre).
If you are using Google Maps or Sat Nav, search on “St Mary’s Club & Function Room” which takes you straight there. Or use PR7 2BY, which takes you to Devonshire Road.
Don’t use PR7 2SR as you will need to walk round the church and across the square.
Park in West Street car park, immediately adjacent to the hall, accessed from Devonshire Road. It is billed as “short stay” but this does not apply in the evening.
